I have seen a few photos of the home in various stages of demolition, but most were not closeups and you couldn't see a lot.
Have you seen the photo of the driveway during the deconstruction? I have it, and it is a closeup, but the drive is uphill and you can't see the location where the house was from there. I have some more photos, and will try to locate them to see if I have some better shots. |

why did it take so long to tear this house down ? We had our own "House of Horror" here and it was demolished straight away

I think it was more of a piece of history that nobody wanted to mess with.

It's amazing so many are still interested in this case. My guess is because it was so bizarre. There have been lots worse crimes that didn't gain the publicity this one did.

JMO, I think the house stood so long because it was still being rented out. The last tenent was Trent Reznor of the Nine Inch Nails. He recorded an album in the very living room where Sharon was murdered. I believe Rudy Altobelli held on to the house until the very end, tried to sell it without success, and it was finally torn down. I am sure Reznor was the last tenent, he took the door from the house with him. (The one they wrote "pig" on) The last anyone heard it at an undisclosed location, having been sold. I would think if someone would look, there are photos of the recordings being made in the Cielo Drive living room. As far as a "walk-thru" video of the home before it was destroyed, I have looked myself and have been unable to find anything. Not saying there are none, just none that I have found on the net.
Good luck in your search. Pam |
